Wrinkles over night?
Q. Dear Daphne, Maybe you can help me with this, I am 33 years old and have just noticed wrinkles around my eyes. I take good care of my skin and have wrinkles no where else. I do not understand, it seems like they appeared overnight! Is this normal? Can you suggest something to help me? Sincerely, Distraught
A. Dear Distraught, There are many reasons for the skin to wrinkle around the eyes from too much sun to lack of sleep. In your case of it seemingly to have happened suddenly, I would first check if it is an allergy. Is there a new skincare product, makeup, perfume, etc that you have begun using? If so, discontinue it for a few days and see if the condition improves. Stop each product one at a time so that you can determine which one is causing the problem. Please write back if the condition persists. Warmest regards, Daphne
follow-up. Hi Daphne! You were so right. I narrowed it down to an eye shadow that I bought two weeks ago. I stopped using it and within three days I was wrinkle free! No more bargain make-up for me.
Thank you so much, Mary (Distraught)

Waxing question...
Q. Hi Daphne, I am interested in having a full leg and bikini wax done. I have had this done once in the past, and usually shave, however I would like to start waxing now.
Can you tell me how long the leg wax would last? I know everyone is different, but just a general idea would be good.
I hope to come soon. Thanks Helen
A. Dear Helen, Congratulations on your decision to begin waxing. As you know, shaving makes the hair come back faster and thicker every time that you shave. Waxing is just the opposite, with every wax the hair will become lighter and will take more time to come back. Everyone is different and can expect different results, but on average a person that waxes regularly needs to do it only once or twice a month. All the best, Daphne

Do not wash your face with soap...
Q1. Dear Daphne, For the past few months my face has been irritated, kind of rashy and red. I am considering going to a dermatologist to have it checked as it is sometimes painful. Most of the time it is not too bad but it can get so bad that I don't want to leave the house. Any ideas? Amy
A1. Dear Amy, The symptoms that you have described may have many causes. Maybe we can narrow it down if you give a little more information such as your skin type, skincare regiment, health issues etc.
Q2. Daphne, I have dry very sensitive skin and I have a light complexion. My skincare regiment is not too fancy, I use Ivory Soap to wash my face and an Estee Lauder cream to moisturize. In addition to that I am in good health, I work as a trainer. Thanks, Amy
A2. OK, no soap on the face. Do not use soap on your face as it will make your skin more dry and destroy the PH acid balance that helps to protect your skin. Use a good facial cleanser and you will see a dramatic difference. I would suggest our White Rose Cleanser that in addition to cleansing the face it also moisturizes and soothes irritation. It also wouldn't hurt to use a moisturizer more suited to your particular skin.
All the best, Daphne

Why use a mask?
Q. Hi Daphne, I have been using your products for the past year or so and my skin has never looked better! I am interested in trying a mask, I have not used one before and I have a few questions. What do masks do? Do they clarify the skin? Lastly, I have normal skin, can you suggest one of your mask? Sincerely, Deborah - your biggest fan!
A. Dear Deborah, Thank you for the kind words. Masks are essential products that should be a part of everyone's skincare regiment at least twice a week. Think of a mask as an at-home treatment to deep cleanse, treat and condition your skin. Masks have different properties and are designed to boost and supplement aspects of your skincare routine from detoxifying, clearing and moisturizing to treating certain conditions. Sunscreen??
Q. I will be making an appt shortly for another wonderful facial. Also, I love the Sunfruit cleanser you recomended for me. I was looking for a moisturizer from your line, something good for the summer and it seems that none of them contain sunscreen. Is this something that I have overlooked? I have tried so many lotions/moisturizers that are very greasy and make me break out. Can you recommend something good for dry and sensitive skin. See yo Soon! Angela
A. Dear Angela, You are correct, our moisturizers do not contain sunscreen. The concept behind this is that we take much time and effort to make a moisturizer for a particular need, skin type or problem and if we were to simply add a sunscreen it might diminish the moisturizer's effectiveness. We do have a stand alone sunscreen called Watermelon Sunscreen SPF30, it is all natural, non clogging and slightly moisturizing. As for a light moisturizer for your dry / sensitive skin, I would recommend the Wild Lavender Cream, Botanical Oxygen Gel or Watermelon Sunscreen. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Warmest regards, Daphne

Product suggestions?
Q. I have questions about which products would be best for me - in the past I have tried your Cypress Mask and it is wonderful for my sensitive skin, along with the Chamomile spray. You have so many wonderful products, I'm not sure what to try next, and I really appreciate your quality ingredients. My skin type is a hybrid of several different "issues", including ruddiness and sensitivity (I'm a fair skin redhead with light eyes), but I also have an oily "t-zone" area with enlarged pores which is quite troublesome - makeup just slides off and I find myself powdering and blotting all day. If I try to use any strong products (ie, alcohol, salycilic acid, menthol, "mattifiers") to control oil in that area, flakiness and dryness usually occurs. I don't really have a problem with pimples or acne, but I do get clogged pores/blackheads in this area. I'm also looking for products to help with fine lines and increase firmness as I am in my mid 30's. What would you suggest from your line for a morning-evening routine? Thank you for any suggestions!
Ginger
A. Dear Ginger,
Thank you for the kind words. I have several product suggestions for you but first I would like to address your oily t-zone issue. I would advise against using strong products, such as alcohol, as they will only dry your skin prompting your skin to produce even moreoil. You first need to calm your skin and then balance your skin.
Here are my recommendations:
Cleanser: Sunfruit Cleanser, very gentle and deep cleansing. For all skin types.
Pumpkin Pie Peel: A gentle enzyme mask to be used 2 to 3 times per week to unclog the pores and detox.
Wild Lavender Oil: Moisturizer for evening to balance skin. It is very soothing and regenerative yet astringent. For sensitive to oily skin types.
Crystal Oxygen Cream: Moisturizer for day for sensitive skin. Clears the skin as well as moisturizes, anti-free radicals.
Best regards, Daphne
