The Beauty Ritual

An exquisitely pampering head-to-toe "beauty ritual" is the newest body treatment at Daphne Studio.  Sensuous in every way, the new beauty ritual delicately infuses the hair and the skin with ylang ylang, rose and amber scents. It's the ultimate luxury for the woman who enjoys celebrating her sensuality, and it has quickly become a favorite of brides-to-be and lovers of all ages.  The ritual begins with an exfoliating scalp mask, infusing the hair with rose and ylang ylang.  Next is a face and body massage with coconut oil, followed by a moisturizing and exfoliating scrub using almond and rose coconut meal.  After steaming the body underneath a special table tent, the scrub is gently washed off, and a healing, beautifying Alpine mud mask is applied all over the face and body with a soft brush.  A warm heating blanket covers the body and allows the mud to purify and detoxify the skin.  The client then takes a long warm shower with a range of La Daphne all-natural botanical body cleansers, shampoos and conditioners.  After that, the still-moist face and body is moisturized with white rose lotion (rose is soothing, strengthening and helps retain moisture·perfect for winter skin).  The ritual is finished with a dusting of all natural amber powder for a subtle, sensuous scent.  Et voila!

Suction Cups Draw Out Toxins, Reduce Pain and Inflammation

Daphne has added the ancient art of cupping, a treatment of disease by suction of the skin’s surface, to its roster of unique and exotic health and beauty treatments. Cupping was a healing technique widely used by people for 2000 years in the Mediterranean, Europe and China to treat pain, congestion and inflammation of the lungs, kidneys, colon, joints and spine, says Daphne. It’s a totally effective way to relieve symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, coughs and phlegm, arthritis, edema, indigestion, headaches and menstrual cramps.

According to ancient healers, the cupping procedure of placing glass suction cups along both sides of the spine as well as over specific trouble spots, removes toxins and excess heat from the body, releasing them through the skin’s pores. Cupping has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of qi (healing energy) and blood in the meridians, thereby diminishing swelling, congestion and pain.

Here’s how our cupping treatment works:

-Warm-up massage of the spine
-Warm compresses
-Massage with appropriate essential oils:

-Cypress, juniper, grapefruit, lemon (kidneys)
-Pine, eucalyptus, evergreen, mustard (lungs)

-Application of heated suction cups to affected areas for 20 minutes

**A vacuum is created in the small cups that are then attached to the body’s surface. The vacuum causes a drawing up of the underlying tissues into the cups, pulling inner congestion in the body up and out. When effective in its job, the skin will appear reddened after the cup is removed. The redness is in direct proportion to the amount of congestion and toxins that were removed, and will disappear within two or three days. “The relief from symptoms of pain and congestion is felt immediately,” reports Daphne.
